Self-care is not a cure for everything. But with the correct mindset and self-care done right, it would definitely be able to lift your spirits and helps you feel calm. Many people would think that self-care is time-consuming, I don’t have enough time for self-care. My schedule is already so packed, and taking time out for self-care is just going to stress me out more if I am unable to accomplish it.

But self-care is more than actually putting aside time to practice it. Self-care is also the mindset that we adopt when we work on things, self-care is when we learn our own beliefs and how we stick by them. Self-care is also how we can prioritise our time so that we do not overwork ourselves and remember to block in time for ourselves to rest or take a breather.

So what if I really can’t take out time for self-care some days? I just have so many things to do. Do I really have to take out time to practice self-care? The answer is, it will be better if you can have time to focus on yourself. But do you know that there are many self-care that can be done even when we are busy? And we will actually also make the things we are doing more enjoyable when we learn how to incorporate self-care when we are busy.

A little tip is, you can ask yourself when you are busy: how can I make what I need to do more enjoyable for myself?

I am a full time working mom with a side business. I wake up at 6.30 am, I travelled with my daughter and send her for childcare by 8 am, I end work at 4 pm and I take my daughter at 5 pm. I travel and reach home at 6 pm, we got to bathe and eat and get to bed by 8 pm. You can see that my schedule is really packed. But do I have time for self-care? Yes! Do I practice self-care even when I am busy? Yes! Do I find joy in the things I do? Yes yes yes!

And that also means that, my family is joyful everyday because a joyful mommy raise a joyful family! Yes, there are definitely going to be problems some days and there are days when we are not able to see things eye-to-eye but we are able to find joy despite all these too!

And if you ask me how, I must tell you that self-care is one of the many ways! In fact, it is proven that moms who are takes care of themselves better is able to handle situations more calmly, will be able to be more patient when managing their children and home.

So what are some self-care that we can practice when we are busy?
